A large part of being able to offer 1:1 support to disabled people and those with health conditions find sustainable work involves us engaging and liaising with employers.
Employers want to get it right around recruitment, retention and the development of their workforce. It’s expensive not too!
However, we find even with the best of intentions and inclusive policies, many employers are glad to take advantage of our practical experience and input.
A recent pilot project funded by the Scottish Government’s ‘Workplace Equality Fund’, allowed Into Work to successfully collaborate with three large private-sector partners to deliver training around disability. A range of participants included those from HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Facilities and other hiring managers.

‘It’s important for us to work with the likes of Into Work and continuously review how we approach selection, recruitment and attraction of candidates with disability’
‘working with colleagues in a separate environment from the standard working environment is really positive’

‘there have been times I’ve felt uneducated about this topic. I think there is a fear that drives a lot of the conversation. So the more we can talk in an open manner – the better’
