Intowork Funders
Intowork operates as a Scottish Charity receiving funding from a number
of sources including local authorities, the European Social Fund and
the Big Lottery.
History of funding for Intowork
When Intowork was established in 1993 it was funded
jointly by Lothian Regional Council and the Scottish Executive under the
Urban Aid funding stream.
After local government reorganisation in 1997, Intowork
was directly managed by the City of Edinburgh Council, with additional
financial support coming from East, Mid and West Lothian Councils. This
arrangement continued until late 1997 when Intowork achieved Scottish charitable
status, operating independently as a company limited by guarantee.
While the four unitary local authorities within the
former Lothian region still provide limited and/or in-kind funding support
to Intowork, a significant proportion now also comes from the the European
Social Fund Objective 3 Programme and the Big Lottery.
